Description

Barry McGuigan's defeat of Eusebio Pedroza in June 1985 to win the World Featherweight title was one of the most glorious achievements in Irish sport in the 1980s. These images show his triumphant return to his hometown of Clones in the days after. Huge crowds turned out to see him the small town and cheer own their very own world champion.
