Description

A film by Samuel Bracegirdle, showing the Conservative Party Conference at the Brighton Opera House. Edward Heath had recently been elected leader of the Conservative Party. 

The film shows the interior of the Opera House, and prominent Conservative politicians such as Enoch Powell can be seen.  

Notes

Samuel Bracegirdle was an amateur filmmaker from Belfast, his work dates from the 1950s to the 1970s. Many of his films show his home life and holidays with family and friends. He also took an interest in local history and Unionist heritage.
