Description

MP Enoch Powell arrives in Belfast ahead of his speech at the Unionist party headquarters in Belfast. He addresses the controversial Plowden Report on the aircraft industry.  

Notes

Enoch Powell served as a Conservative Member of Parliament (1950–1974), then Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) MP (1974–1987) and was Minister of Health (1960–1963). He was a controversial figure, best known for his ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech, criticising immigration policies.
