Description

Twelve year old Kay Flannagan learns morse code from her widowed father, a lonely radio ham. In 1970s Belfast their house is a cosy world of soldering irons, messages over the ether and faulty televisions. One day a rival for Dad's affections shatters their symbiosis.

Made as part of the BBC's Northern Lights series. Won the Best Short in the 'Northern Lights' category at the Irish World Heritage Film Awards at the Kino Film Festival of New Irish Cinema in Manchester (March 1997); One of the short films selected as Best of the Fest at the Drambuie Edinburgh Film Festival in August 1996.
