Description

Mr Reilly talks to Jimmy Greene about the upcoming exhibition of the design of consumer durables. The exhibition will include items from the Design Index and also local items such as tweed. Mr Reilly is hoping that shopkeepers will visit and take up the sales of some of the goods.

Notes

The Design Index was a list of products from the Council of Industrial Design (COID) Index from 1959 to 1969. The Design Index was a list of products selected by the Council which represented the best of British design in consumer goods; everything from ballpoint pens to washing machines.
