In the second and final episode of Drink Talking, Damian Gorman invites others to share their own stories and reflections about the journey to sobriety. The people he interviews speak candidly and with deep self-awareness, offering accounts shaped by grief, hurt and the long process of healing. Their stories convey the pain of that process, but they also provide solace for those facing similar struggles and for the loved ones who support them. Gorman also interviews a doctor who details the course of treatment for patients suffering from alcoholism and one interviewee shares his experience of going through the health system.

Gorman’s questioning is gentle and unobtrusive which gives each interviewee space to explore their thoughts naturally. The result is a quietly powerful conclusion to a deeply personal and empathetic documentary series.

Drink Talking was produced in 1991 by DBA Television Productions and filmed by David Barker, the company’s founder.
