Description

Easy Rollers, a collaborative digital lo-fi project between filmmaker Mark McKeown and Belfast artist Jim McKevitt, presents a whimsical exploration of the intersection between interior and exterior realms. Filmed around Antrim town, the film weaves together live-action footage of local landmarks with striking, perspective-altering illustrations, technical drawings, and fractal imagery. A reflective narration guides the viewer through a dreamlike journey, prompting contemplation on the influence of dreams on shaping our reality: “Would I be happier without these dreams?” Ultimately, the film concludes with a hopeful message: “Perhaps the world needs more dreams…you’re innocent when you dream.”

The film’s layered aesthetic, characterised by pen drawings, flickering triptychs, and the silhouette of an enigmatic crested bird, intertwines seamlessly with an evocative soundscape of guitar melodies and rhythmic knocking, creating a hypnotic and introspective experience.
