Description

A film by Samuel Bracegirdle, showing the trams, illuminations and parade floats in Blackpool. 

Notes

Samuel Bracegirdle was an amateur filmmaker from Belfast, his work dates from the 1950s to the 1970s. Many of his films show his home life and holidays with family and friends. He also took an interest in local history and Unionist heritage. 

The Blackpool Tramway opened in 1885, and it is one of the oldest electric tramways in the world.

The Blackpool illuminations are an annual light display, which started in 1879.
