Description

A film by Samuel Bracegirdle, showing the bonfires and marches in Belfast for the Twelfth of July in the late 1950s. 

The Orange Order parade includes bands from Canada, Tobermore and Greenock. 

Water is provided by the Irish Temperence League, and leaflets from Ulster Protestant Action were being handed out.  

Notes

Samuel Bracegirdle was an amateur filmmaker from Belfast, his work dates from the 1950s to the 1970s. Many of his films show his home life and holidays with family and friends. He also took an interest in local history and Unionist heritage.
