Description

A four part series exploring early Irish immigrants who settled in America. Showing political scenes in Northern Ireland and traditional events we are shown the "media caricatures" which are a "tiny fraction of truth amongst the remarkable people". The Ulster Scots or Irish Scots, where Americas first frontiersmen, they gave the United States ten presidents and a democratic philosophy, they built cities like Pittsburgh. But intergration which was easy in America, in Ireland seems impossible.

Narrated by John Keegan and shown through dramatic reenactment, the story of the Ulster Scots is played out for the viewer to watch.
