Description

This is the only existing example from a renowned strand of programming from the early days of UTV. The Inquiring Mind was what it suggests - serious programming on the big subjects of the day or periods of history. This particular programme was part of a run they made on Ulster and America, showing the contribution made to American history by people from Ulster. In this surviving example the focus is on the tumultuous period of the US Civil War. The presenter was Brigadier Ronald Broadhurst who also presented a series of programmes for UTV on the history of the Crusades.
