Description

Great Golf journey team goes to the Royal County Down Golf Club in Newcastle. The golf course golf course is located in one of the most naturally beautiful links setting in the Murlough Nature Reserve and set against the backdrop of the Mourne Mountains. The links stretches along the shores of Dundrum Bay and golfers can enjoy breathtaking views of the coastline and the mountains simultaneously.

Ronan Rafferty and his caddie Joe take in the great views, fresh air and play a game on this challenging golf course. They also meet Harry McCaw, a former captain of the Royal County Down club, who tells them about his research into the history and development of the club as well as listing some golfing legends who played at this course in the past. The team also visits Castlewellan Forest Park nearby where Sam Harrison describes a great variety of activities available in the forest park including fishing, pony trekking or simply enjoying the lush, green flora. The programme features great aerial views of the area.
