Description

Jimmy Greene reports from Larne and interviews Nikolai Poliakoff, aka Coco the Clown. Coco was one of the most famous clowns in the UK. He tells Jimmy about his favourite skits.

Nikolai Poliakoff led an amazing life. Born in Latvia, he took part in the Russian civil war. In the 1950s, he was involved in a serious road accident prompting him to devote himself to the promotion of road safety awareness in children. However, at the same time he continued to work in the circus in the mid-1960s, seated ringside while selling programmes dressed in his full clown’s costume.
