Description

Celebrated UTV reporter James Boyce takes a trip to Derry/Londonderry in this report from 1966. The completed programme is missing but these rushes combine to give an interesting insight into the city in the mid-1960s.

While touring the city walls Boyce speaks to a number of its residents including the Dean of St Columb’s, the Derry Sergeant of Arms in his full ceremonial regalia, Major Glover on the subject of finance and Stephen McGonnigle about the city’s housing problems. He also meets with a young John Hume to talk about the division between the two communities.
