Description

Oliver McGilloway present's McGilloway's Way, a programme which celebrates the dramatic and beautiful landscapes surrounding Ulster.

This episode is set by Sheephaven Bay, Co.Donegal, with McGilloway's own dogs - Dillon and Megan - joining in on the exploration of the Mountainous area, packed with an abundance of lakes, flora and fauna and town lands. Meet Jim, who introduces us to the Red Deer which are found in this enclosure, and find out when they shed their antlers and their socialising behaviour.

While rowing with a local, McGilloway takes the viewer on a tour of some man-made islands, off the beaten track, and explains how these islands were used when families needed to protect themselves from attack!

Notes

Oliver, or Olly McGilloway as he was widely known as, was the presenter of McGilloway's Way and was produced by Joe Mahon.  The series was unexpectedly cut short due to McGilloway's untimely death in 1994. The programme was relaunched as Lesser Spotted Ulster with Joe Mahon as presenter and continues to be broadcast today.
