Description

A clip from Norman Stockton's programme about the UTV archives.

Features female pageant contestants walking along the front of the city hall, dominating the pavement. Next, they are all sitting along a wall smiling before they group off and walk to the building hosting the competition. Lastly, the women appear one by one while being directed by the host on where to stand.

Notes

At the time, the winner of Miss Northern Ireland would have to compete in the Miss United Kingdom competition and win it, before going on to compete in Miss World. However, since 1999 each nation in the UK sends their representative to Miss World and the highest ranking competitor is crowned Miss United Kingdom.

Credits
