Description

This profile of Basil Kelly QC is sadly missing the sound. Kelly was born in 1920 in Clones before partition but his family soon moved north to the newly created state of Northern Ireland where they settled in east Belfast. Kelly ended up becoming a senior judge in Northern Ireland. He was elected to the Northern Ireland parliament as a Unionist MP in 1964, the year of this profile, and would later serve as Northern Ireland’s Attorney General in the government until its dissolution in 1972.
