Description

Selkies Sea Shanty Women's Group are a women’s sea shanty group founded in 2021 in Portaferry. With a repertoire of sea faring songs, and great enthusiasm, they quickly gained a public profile through performances at several events and appearing on television in UTV’s   Keepers of the Lough series. This video captures a snapshot the groups very first public performance at the Portico Arts Centre in their hometown of Portaferry. In the video, the group sing “Soon May the Wellerman Come” and “What Shall We do with the Drunken Sailor?”
