Description

Children's programme with Jane Cassidy and Barney the puppet.

Jane and Barney recall a story they read about a little boy called Thomas who lived in a cottage on a farm in County Tyrone a long time ago. He was only five years old when his parents sold their farm and moved to America. The cottage and the school he went to can still be seen in the Ulster American Folk Park. And that’s where Jane and Barney’s adventure takes us is this episode.

Jane explores the interior of the house while Barney takes a nap in Tommy’s bed. They learn about local history and a traditional way of living, how to make pancakes and corn dollies. Barney gets to see what going to school was like and even get a proper look at what shops looked like back in the day.
