Jim Baker became one of the
many world champions from Northern Ireland in the 1980s when he landed the
World Indoor Bowling title in 1984. This report for Good Evening Ulster by
Lesley Dawes highlights the new bowling complex which has been built and named
in his honour at Templepatrick, with an early peek behind the scenes and a
demonstration ahead of its official opening.

speaks to Lesley. while several other players using the complex express their
hopes that it will raise the standard of both the men's and women's games in
the country. They also discuss how the popularity of the indoor variant of the
game has changed the nature of the sport through televised events.
