Description

The first part of a documentary marking the 50th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising. Brian Connell presents the story of Ireland from the famine, through the War of Independence and Civil War, up to present times.

The documentary examines the political ideologies of Nationalism and Unionism Ireland and features interviews with several men who participated in the Easter Rising recalling their experiences.
