Description

Maria McCann hosts this holiday programme with this episode looking at Portrush and all it has to offer.

Heralded as "Ulster's favourite holiday location" with beaches, amusement and night life, McCann meets local business owners and holidaymakers during the peak season. First up is Eddie Mason, manager of Barry's amusements, he states that "everybody has to visit Barry's, it's well known", however, despite the popularity the service has, Barry's still improves year on year as "you have to keep up with the modern rides".

After a thrilling ride on the Big Dipper, McCann goes to meet Betty Dick (Portrush Tourist Information), who discusses the wide variety of entertainment in the town and the high standard which is demanded of the accommodation services. Freda Metcalf (Chairman, Guest House Association) agrees with this high standard which is guaranteed to visitors as even with the smaller establishment are expected to give "almost a hotel service".
