Description

Liz Smyth decided she wanted to do something different. She didn't want to be a married woman, or a single parent, or enter into any form of  conventional lifestyle. Instead, in 1984, she decided to become a Dominican Sister.

However, Sister Smith would go on to fight the good fight in more ways than one... becoming the first Dominican nun to qualify as a boxing instructor!

Notes

Originally from Belfast, Liz Smyth is from a boxing family.
