A weigh-in for Eric Fearon and “Big Bad Jim” Monaghan from Derry before their heavyweight bout. Bill Rutherford talks to Mike Callaghan, the matchmaker about a weigh-in and what happens if a boxer is overweight. He also interviews promoter Barney Eastwood. This match, played at the Ulster Hall, ended in a draw

Notes

Jim Monaghan (Derry) was a professional boxer who was active between 1963 and 1966.

He boxed at heavyweight and took part in 19 professional contests. 

Barney Eastwood made his money as a bookmaker but is best known as a boxing promoter, working with many of the top names in Irish boxing.
