This short film explores the day-to-day life of the Express Yourself Social Café at their Belfast home, The Black Box. Launched in April 2023, the group meets weekly to bring together adults with learning disabilities to develop artistic skills, foster social connections and collaborate with a wide range of cultural organisations.

The film includes short interviews with members and convenors of the Social Café – including David, Sarah, Gabriel, Sean and Deirdre – who discuss their connection with the group and its activities, such as the monthly Black Moon disco. Held at The Black Box, Black Moon offers a chance to socialise, dance to great music, and experience the joy of shared creativity.
