Description

A report for Good Evening Ulster by Adrian Logan ahead of the world cycling championships. Flying the flag for Ireland is Debbie Kane, inspired by a golden era for Irish cycling, with Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche blazing a trail in races such as the Tour de France.

Debbie is the daughter of one of the most charismatic figures in Ulster cycling, Dave Kane, and ran her own cycling boutique in East Belfast close to her father's famous shop. She speaks to Adrian about the difficulty of making it in the world of cycling as a female competitor. Dave also speaks about his hopes for Debbie at the tournament.
