Description

The Royal Navy’s latest guided missile destroyer, HMS Kent, was launched at Queen’s Island, Belfast in September 1961, having been built in the famous Harland and Wolff shipyard. Appropriately enough, the dignitary chosen to perform the ceremony was Princess Marina, the Duchess of Kent.
