Governor Lord Erskine on his first visit to Bangor. Minister Harry West accompanies him and his wife on the visit to a new housing development.

Governor of Northern Ireland. John Maxwell Erskine, 1st Baron Erskine of Rerrick, GBE, KStJ, JP, DL, FRSE (14 December 1893 – 14 December 1980) was a Scottish banker. He acted as Governor of Northern Ireland from 1964 to 1968.
