Notes

Joseph (Joe) Tomelty was a renowned Northern Irish actor, who appeared variously on stage, on screen and on the radio. He became a household name in Northern Ireland in the late-Forties/early-Fifties as the writer and star of radio serial The McCooeys. He would later appear in film productions such as Hobson's Choice (1954) and Moby Dick (1956). However, his greatest achievements came on stage, not least for writing - Irish theatre classic - All Souls' Night and for his role in Sam Thompson's Over The Bridge (1960).
