Description

Ernest Strathdee interviews Lady Perdita Blackwood on her Clandyboye Estate in Crawfordsburn about rearing and training ponies for show-jumping. Training begins at 4 years old and there is a lot of work to prepare a pony for riding. Lady Perdita introduces their new pony being prepared for show-jumping and talks about the money and time required to look after ponies.

Lady Perdita Maureen Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood (b. 1934), Daughter of Basil Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 4th Marquess of Dufferin and Ava and Maureen Constance Maude. Sister of Lady Caroline Blackwood and Sheridan Hamilton-Temple-Blackwood, 5th Marquess of Dufferin and Ava. An avid horse-breeder, she lives on the Clandeboye Estate in Crawfordsburn.
