Description

Joe visits the village of Rockcorry in Co Monaghan. There he meets June Brown who tells him the local history of the area and the house once lived in by John Robert Gregg who invented a form of shorthand and became a millionaire in America. Joe also talks to Brian McDonald on Mayo Hill who points out the historical landmarks of Monaghan and Cavan from the vantage point.

Peadar Morgan shows Joe around his vast display of animals preserved through taxidermy in cabinets where he recreates their natural habitats around them. Joe visits a local church which has been converted into an outdoor pursuits centre, including a rock-climbing wall. Michelle Forrester oversees as Joe tries his hand at it. Finally, Joe visits Annaghmakerrig, the former home of the great actor Sir Tyrone Guthrie. Sheila Ptarschke has the job of looking after it for the artistic community it was bequeathed to.
