Description

This short film explores the history of Omagh's Old Town Hall, once the vibrant centre of nightlife for the town and surrounding region. The hall hosted renowned musicians, including the celebrated tenor Joseph Locke, and reached its heyday in the mid-1950s, when it became famous for its popular pantomimes that attracted audiences from across the country. Although the Old Town Hall eventually fell into disrepair, its legacy lives on through the Strule Arts Centre, built on the same site, which continues to play a vital role in the cultural life of the community.
