Description

Gordon Burns interviews some of the rally drivers looking forward to competing in the 1969 Circuit of Ireland and discusses some of the rule changes introduced that year. Among those interviewed are local legend Paddy Hopkirk with his navigator, Tony Nash. Aso present was a man known as the Flying Finn, one of the greatest drivers of the 60s and 70s, Timo Makinen, with his navigator, Mike Wood. Hopkirk had won the rally five times previously, most recently just two years earlier, and he would go onto finish second in that year’s competition, behind the previous year’s winner, Roger Clark.
