Description

Barney and Jane cannot wait to explore the beach of Strangford Lough! First of all they visit the village of Strangford on the shores of Strangford Lough, board a ferry and sail towards Portaferry.

The ferry crosses the narrowest part of Strangford Lough, close to where the lough joins the Irish Sea. In Portafferry Jane and Barney are welcomed by Billy Reid who is the manager of the Aquarium at Portaferry. Billy takes them for a stroll along the beach where they explore a great variety of little sea creatures hiding underneath the rocks and waiting for the tide to return. Apart from tiny crabs and starfish they also spot a few seals lounging near the shore. Aquarium as the last part of the trip does not disappoint. Billy shares some interesting facts on sharks and shows a starfish in action - hunting for scallops.
