Description

Maurice Smyth reports from Londonderry on the funereal process in support of the campaign to base the new Northern Ireland university in Derry. He talks through the route and interviews Arthur Jack, one of the organisers.

Notes

The Lockwood Committee, led by Sir John Lockwood was formed to look into the location of a second university in Northern Ireland. The report took two years and in the end, somewhat controversially, the decision was taken to place the university in Coleraine, rather than in Derry city.

An Ulster Television Production.
