Description

Chairman of Shorts of Belfast, Cuthbert Wrangham, talks to Rory Fitzpatrick following his meeting with the British government. The Belfast freighter had not proved as successful as hoped so the factory will have to look at diversification and will receive aid from the government.  

The period of the 60s marked a decline in the fortunes of Short Brothers although it would continue to work on aircraft and build the Skyvan for some time.
