Description

The conversation features Lauren and Joanne, two individuals from Northern Ireland, discussing their experiences as transgender and intersex people. They talk about challenges in accessing healthcare, including long waiting times and difficulties in finding appropriate medical services. They also explore the complexities of gender identity, the intersections of trans and intersex experiences, and societal perceptions of biological sex.

Joanne shares her experiences in the workplace, highlighting both supportive environments and instances of discrimination. She discusses her role in an employee network that advocates for LGBTQ+ inclusion. The discussion also touches on the variance in attitudes across different companies in Belfast, with some being more progressive than others.

Throughout, both speakers emphasize the importance of continued advocacy and resilience in the face of systemic barriers.
