Description

Brian Black presents this studio talk show featuring John Hume who takes questions from eight members of the general public who live on the Shankill Road, with the topic centred around the Anglo-Irish Agreement.

During Hume's opening statement he shares about his appreciation to have the opportunity to have a dialogue with the people from the Shankill and that it should happen regularly. He then makes an analogy about the European Union, this is made with reference to his recent trip to East Berlin.

Audience members debate Hume about their negative experience of the Anglo Irish Agreement while questioning him on what the positives were meant to be. Hume retains his stance throughout that until the relationship of mistrust between Unionists and the rest of Ireland is resolved then nothing will be.

Concluding thought is from an audience member who believes that the problems lie with the politicians.
