Description

Gerry Kelly welcomes guests and live audience to another evening of music and conversations in Northern Ireland’s popular chat show.

The first guest of the night is a former Labour MP, Robert Kilroy-Silk, who transitioned to presenting morning television. He talks to Kelly about the career change and his interview style. Kilroy-Silk was sacked by the BBC for anti-Arab remarks in 2004 and joined UKIP the same year. Other guests on the show include the winner of Crossmaglen bare knuckle fighting championship, the King of the Travellers Dan Rooney along with Paul Rooney whose commentary can be heard in the amateur video recording of the event. The former world boxing champion Barry McGuigan also accepts an invitation and talks to Kelly about work, boxing career and the dispute with Barney Eastwood.

In the second half of the show, Kelly meets Belfast entrepreneur Diljit Rana who talks about his humble beginnings in business and about his latest venture Plaza Hotel. Last but not least, Kelly welcomes Rod Hull and his uncontrollably violent bird Emu. The riotous puppet bird wrestles Kelly down and proceeds to torment the unsuspecting members of the audience. Musical guests performing in this programme are Philomena Begley, Jimmy McCarthy, Linda Martin and the resident duo Bacaan.
