Description

Footage of an important and colourful ceremony full of pageantry which was held at Armagh Cathedral in 1961. The event was held to mark the Patrician Year to recognise 1500 years of devotion to St Patrick in Ireland. As well as four cardinals and a papal legate being in attendance the event was also visited by the Irish President, Eamon de Valera, and the Taoiseach, Sean Lamass.
