Description

Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother’s visit to Northern Ireland in autumn 1963 included a number of official public engagements and this one took place on the fourth and final day of her tour as she visited the modern Gallaher’s tobacco factory in Ballymena. After being given a tour of the work carried out by the mainly female workforce the Queen Mother is then seen departing from the new Aldergrove airport, which she officially opened just three days earlier.
