Jackie Fullerton reports for Good Evening Ulster on the
fast emerging talent of Robert Dunlop. His elder brother Joey was one of the
most lauded sportsmen in Northern Ireland at the time as a five times world
champion racing his bike on open roads. Ahead of a race at Carrowdore in Co
Down, Robert discussed recent broken bones and injuries and what it's like to
live in his brother's shadow. Another
racer, Sam McClements, is also interviewed ahead of the race meet on his home
course, where he is the current lap record holder.
Robert
Dunlop went onto become one of the most successful Northern Irish road racers
with many wins and podium finishes at the North West 200 and Isle of Man TT.
Tragically, he would die from injuries following a crash at the North West 200
in 2008.
