Description

UTV reporter Maurice Smyth reports from the vicinity of Killadeas in Co Fermanagh’s Lower Lough Erne area on two speedboat record attempts. One was being attempted by Pat Robbins of London along with his co-driver and navigator, a Mr Zebedee of Enniskillen and it involved setting a new record for distance travelled during a 24-hour non-stop journey. The other involved a smaller boat attempting to travel a large distance on a minimum level of fuel.

Robbins is interviewed about the attempt which he claims involved full time staff, three boats and six engines and a cost of over £1,000. He notes with sadness that there will be no financial reward for breaking the record.
