Description

This moving short reel by Sinead McGarry of the Northwest Creatives captures the first ever Rose Drop on the Causeway Coast and Glens in commemoration of people who died from AIDs-related illnesses, with a particular focus on people from Northern Ireland’s rural communities. The event took place in Coleraine on a bridge spanning the River Bann.

World Aids Day was first held in 1988 following promotion by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The day was initially dedicated to raising awareness of AIDS and memorialising those who died of the disease.
