Description

Putting together some dishes with whatever that can be found in tins, packets or in the freezer, Jenny Bristow shows how to cook for unexpected visitors.

For those whose cooking abilities are really minimal, there’s Spiced-Up Ham which takes a tin of cooked ham and with the addition of a very hot sauce creates a dish with very little effort and according to Jenny with ‘the maximum of impact’.

The studio kitchen, backdrop to Jenny’s cookery show, is the epitome of rustic charm. Here she prepares a range of dishes - varying in difficulty from the very simple to the most sophisticated - for special occasions. Whether it's Sunday lunch for the family, or a children's birthday party, or a picnic, or a party buffet, Jenny provides you with a host of easy-to-follow recipes and tips.

Notes

Jennifer Ann Bristow is a Northern Irish cook and cookery writer. Bristow was brought up on her family's dairy farm near Coleraine. A former home economics teacher at Cambridge House in Ballymena, Bristow made her first television appearance on Ulster Television's Farming Ulster in 1989 demonstrating how to cook with potatoes, which led a producer at the station to offer Bristow her own series.
