Description

UTV news coverage of the funeral of John “Jack” Sayers, the former editor-in-chief of the Belfast Telegraph. His father had also been an editor on the paper and had commenced work there in 1897 to present a continued Sayers connection to the publication from then until the retirement on health grounds of Jack in April 1969. The funeral was attended by the former Prime Minister of Northern Ireland Terence O’Neill, whom Sayers had been a supporter of during the troubled end to his Premiership that year.
