Description

From Jenny Bristow's own home, explore recipes from many different cultures and "the best produce from around the world". These dishes have been chosen for their versatility and they are in tune with our modern day way of life.

This episode is all about Caribbean cuisine, and with their mangos, coconuts, papayas, bananas, sugar, spices and rum "was there ever a region which brought us such flavour and sunshine into our cooking?".

Special dishes prepared in the programme include a prawn curry which has uses both the coconut milk and the flesh -though you will need a screwdriver and a hammer to get into this sturdy ingredient! Other favourites include a Jamaican bread pudding with a rum and tea sauce, or if you have kids, watch to find out an inventive new way to use banana skins!
