This film from Springboard provides a comedic look at the legacy of the Good Friday Agreement centred around two participants in the Our Lives, Our Legacy programme.
Their brilliant, naturalistic performance shines a light on some of the quirks and absurdities that both sides of Northern Ireland’s historical communities share. During their odyssey around Belfast, including the Falls, the Shankill, and the City Hall, they agree that what they share in common outnumbers what divides them and to agree to disagree over the minor issues. They discuss the legacy of the agreement and the challenges that still exist, particularly for young people, in Northern Irish society today with other programme members. This film was shown at the event in the Crumlin Road Gaol profiled in the Beyond Twenty Five film and was followed by a performance of the traditional song Willie McBride or The Green Fields of France by two programme participants.
