Candy Devine presents Rejoice, a programme which incorporates biblical themes into music. This episode focuses on the topic of 'remembrance' and how we don't also get to choose what memories we get to keep and which we throw away.
The first performance is by Pueli et Pueri Cantores who sing 'Abide With Me' a hymn written by Scottish man Rev. Henry Francis Lyte - who grew up in Ulster.
A biblical passage about bad memories is read aloud with children's drawings illustrating the story, this is followed by Rodney Cordner performing 'Paddys Song'.
Ending the programme is journalist, Martin O'Brien, who tries to answer the question Candy poses for him 'do remembrances hurt or heal?'. He states that they are for reflection and for prayer and to learn from our mistakes, for people in power and influence it is an opportunity to learn from mistakes of predecessors.
