This short segment of the religious series Witness, is hosted by Canon John Mayes, who discusses the art of good relationships.
Found in Derry, at the Craigavon Bridge, is 'Hands Across the Divide', a sculpture by Maurice Harron which depicts two men reaching across to each other. Unveiled in 1992, it symbolises the spirit of reconciliation and hope for the future. Mayes explains how when looking at the artwork it "reminds us that it's essential to break down barriers of mistrust, built up over many years. The future depends on it".
Mayes gives viewers a top tip for living peacefully among others- it begins in the home-. Concluding the lesson he states that the welfare of the community depends on peoples relationships in the home.
